If you want to expand your train set 5 cars at a time, this pack features Henrietta, who has been discontinued for a long time, and is now only available in this pack. If your child enjoys acting out the Thomas & Friends episodes, Henrietta is Toby’s coach. Like Toby, she is old-fashioned and has seen better days. Not many passengers ride in her, but she doesn’t mind. She’s mainly only used for giving passengers tours of the Sodor farm.

If you missed Henrietta a long time ago, then this pack is a MUST HAVE! Don’t forget, since Toby is included in this pack, he and Henrietta will make a great team!

We saw this set had the hard to find engine Oliver… we had to have that for our son. He loves all the vehicles, and connects them in long lines. He doesn’t understand the magnets, and gets confused sometimes with Henrietta, because she doesn’t have a face to show which way to point her. Any car or engine with a face, my son (21 months) can line up correctly on either track or on a table. So, the coal car Fred is nice… something different from an engine, but has a face so he can couple them himself.

Getting 5 vehicles together is a great cost savings too. You get Oliver, Toby, Henrietta, Fred, and Bertie the bus. All have couplers on front and back except Bertie. He only has a coupler on the back. Toby and Henrietta have solid white roofs. I was concerned these would chip and mark like the Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway System: Toad we had gotten to go with the Oliver engine. So far, they don’t have a mark on them, and they’ve been played with just as much. So, RC2 must have improved their white paint quality or something.

    My son loves these trains!
I purchased this wooden train set for my son because the price was a bargain. The Thomas & Friends wooden trains usually cost an average of $12.00 per train.

    Old Steam Train
If you’re a fan of the Farmyard Tales, Oliver paired with one of Gordon’s Express Coaches makes a passable version of the Old Steam Train.

    Kids love thomas!
Thomas wooden train items we recalled but these were not one of them. We had all our trains tested just to be sure.

    Perfect even without the track!
My son loves to take one or two with him everywhere we go. He plays with them on the track, or makes his own make believe tracks.

    A cute gift set
This gift set is really nice. Five cars, including Henrietta, provide lots of entertainment. Getting five cars when this item is on sale at Amazon is great as well.

    A box o’ trains
Not much to report on here. If you are a collector or have one of those kids that needs all the trains, this is a good set for you.

    Eh…
I think my two year old nephew liked it. Why does this review need to be so detailed?

    Train Set a Winner
My four year old loves all his trains and the fact that they have names and personalities and he sees them on his Thomas DVDs is even better. Thumbs up for all these trains!

The love of a train, dates back generations
Our first present in the “Thomas Collection” was the ride-on train. Our two year old grandson loved it. For his 2nd birthday, we had a “Thomas” party and he loved it.

What's your say ?
